The Alta Pro 2+ 263AB100 Aluminum-Alloy Tripod Kit from Vanguard is a sturdy and versatile support system designed to handle up to 15.4 lb. When folded, it measures 29.0 inches and includes an Alta BH-100 Arca-type compatible ball head with a QS-60 V2 Quick Release Plate. The tripod's three-section legs feature an independent spread and twist locks for rapid deployment. The legs can be extended to a maximum height of 56.8 inches, or 68.2 inches with the center column fully raised. When retracted, the tripod stands at 27.8 inches. Two of the legs have polymer covers for a secure, comfortable grip, and rubber feet enhance stability on various surfaces.

The QS-60 V2 Quick Release Plate, compatible with 1/4″-20 mounts, can be attached or removed from the ball head's clamp by tightening or loosening the knurled locking knob. A retaining pin within the clamp prevents the plate from accidentally sliding off when the clamp is opened. The quick release plate features a rubberized, non-slip platform and two built-in bubble levels for precise alignment in landscape or portrait orientations.

The ball head's primary locking knob allows for quick adjustments of the ball-and-socket joint, enabling it to swivel, angle, fully tilt, or return to its upright position. A friction knob above the primary locking knob allows for variable tension control, while a secondary locking knob on the opposite side controls the head's 360° rotation.

For added versatility, the center column is connected to the tripod by a fulcrum, allowing for a 90° tilt upwards or downwards that can be locked into place. The center column assembly also permits 360° independent rotation, functioning as an extendable cross arm or a miniature camera boom. This feature allows an attached camera to be raised toward elevated subjects or extended over a scene. A camera positioned at the end of the center column can be perpendicular to the tripod, extending past the legs for low-angle shots with a minimum height of 9.0 inches, ideal for copy stand or macro photography.
